If school is not in session, does "no parking on school days" rule apply?

What is the name of your state? NYS. The street sign said "no parking 9 am - 4 pm school days". I got a ticket on Aug 23. The school I was parked in front of is closed for the summer. Should I have gotten a ticket?

I beat two no parking except school days in two different places. The reason? Invalid sign. It seems to me that many private schools have invalid signs. I do wonder if these signs need to be renewed every year or maybe they just "find" a sign and post it.

Either way, a school day includes even if the office is opened for clerical work. I received a link for this information, but I lost it. You can search the old posts.
