IL - Red Light Citation (in between green arrow and ALL green)

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ILLINOIS

City of HIckory Hills, IL

I got a red light citation for 1.2seconds into the red - but the circumstance was - I was in the left turn lane and we got the green arrow I approached the intersection as it went yellow I was IN the intersection and for the 1.2 seconds that the light was red with no arrow at all and just before the rest of the light turned green. Do I have a case? I feel that I did not violate any law - I just got caught in the intersection. That is what I got ticketed for because the survellience video stops right after that - and just before the light turns all green; when it was green I safely and lawfully made the left turn from the left turn lane.

Please help!

We cannot know the legalities of your situation unless you provide us with the specific statute number(s) you have been charged with; as SeniorJudge used to say, it's on the forms on your kitchen table.

Without knowing what you were charged with, my guess is you were charged with entering an intersection without being able to clear it in time, which may be a violation in your area. But again, without knowing what you were charged with, we cannot help you.
