I'm getting Ex- wife's parking and unpaid freeways tickets

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Illinois

My wife and I got divorce over two years ago, she got the car which I purchased in my name only. We got divorced I signed the title over to her and now I'm getting tickets for every violation she makes and she makes a lot of them. I still have them unpaid ruining my credit. We are on the non-speaking terms and I don't want to ask her to register the car in her name.
What I can do on my own to stop this

Regards

Then keep getting the tickets.

Hrm... if he has paperwork showing the ex got the vehicle, doesn't that mean she's required to register it in her name?

Of course. But if the OP doesn't tell the OP to get the title transferred, how will she know? I also wonder if the OP considered checking with his state's secretary of state to see what they can do.

How is she keeping insurance on the car and renewing the plates/registration when it isn't in her name?

As long as the state and insurance company are getting their checks for the accounts, why should they care whose name is on the check? For instance, when I was 16, I used to give my dad cash (since I didn't have a checking account) so that he could write a check to pay for MY insurance.

Cool

If she's been renewing the registration in his name, perhaps she's been signing it on the registration papers -- assuming that it's done similarly to the way it works here -- and that could be bad for her.

I've had a few cases like this. I generally require that the complaining party provide a copy of the settlement, then I send the bills to the offending party. OP might do well to call the issuing institutions and see if they'll do the same.

Or, of course, there's always small claims court.

It appears you can renew tags electronically in Illinois.
