Dartmouth College parking operations issued a statement where they are now going to impound cars from anywhere from 2 days up to 3 months depending on the number of parking citations (5 to 8) the owner has recieved on campus; regardless whether those fines are paid the owner will not have access to their vehicle during that impound period.
Is it legal for a private institution like Dartmouth College to impound a vehicle and not allow the owner to access it, even if all fees and fines are paid?
I understand that it is unlikely that someone would accumulate that many citations, although with no student parking on campus, and the appearent need for the parking operations to issue such a statement suggests that this is an issue. What is the name of your state? |
