Improper TOW

What is the name of your state? MD

My car was towed from in front of my apt on Sunday morning (8/5). The tow company said it was because my tags where expired but I tried to tell them that the month sticker is upside down and that they don't expire until 9/07. They where really rude stating that the tags expired in 7/07 and refused to return the car. When I got to the lot to get the car he realized that was I said was correct and that it was an improper tow. Can I sue them for the MAJOR inconvience this caused? Please help. I know that damage is done every time your car is towed. Not to mention that I had to get a ride to the tow lot with my 3 year old NOT IN A CAR SEAT which if stopped by a police would have been another issue.

**A: I agree. And the damage is only the cost of the towing.
