Inproper display of inspection in NY

i'm from nyc. the inspection sticker on my window peeled off after almost 1 year due to heat, cold, and time. it peeled off by itself and lay on dashboard while i wasn't in the car, so i got a violation ticket of inproper display inspeciton sticker for $65 dollar, you know fines in NY are crazy. I'd like to know is there any way to fight this ticket? $65 that's more than my one day's pay. crazy NY gov.

the ticket was printed by printer with every thing listed right. yeah high tech. i couldn't find anything wrong. but i still hope some one can help me on this. thanx thanx.

**A: hire a forensic engineer to investigate and complete a study proving the adhesive used on the sticker fails to perform under normal conditions a vehicle is exposed to namely heat, cold, time etc. Then get this same engineer to go to court as a testifying expert witness in accordance with the NY Rules of Evidence. That's how you win your case.

Or, if all the adhesive engineers are busy that day, you can go down to the PVB and plead guilty, for which they will give you an automatic 20-25% discount on the ticket price (which you can then use to invest in Scotch Tape stock).
