No front plate in CA

What is the name of your state? CA

I was told that if your vehicle, when purchased from the lot, was not already equipped with a bracket or drilled holes to mount the plate on the front of the car. Is this true?

CA state law requires that you have two plates affixed to your vehicle and in pretty specific locations. If there is no place to mount it on the front - make one. They sell lots of nice front plate holders that will mold around your bumper, so do it or face the consequences.

In my town we use that as good cause to stop people a lot. In cities where they use camera enforcement, they will also stop people for no front plate.
