No Parking rules and laws

What is the name of your state?

I am in California and I recieved a parking ticket. My question is if the closest sign was 25 feet away and where I was parked (on the street) had no sign and there was a driveway on both sides of me that leads to a parking lot, is this a legitimate ticket?

THanks
John F.

What did the sign say? Was it 25' in front or behind you? Were there other signs ahead or behind you?
