Exclamation

no standing- bus stop

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NYC,NY

Im from VA and I was in ny and I dropped someone off by a bus stop and before I got a chance to pull out into the heavy traffic I was cut off and blocked in by a traffic cop and I couldnt pull out because of the traffic cops car in the way. im fighting the ticket by mail and they sent me a letter for a reduced fine instead of 115 its lowered to 90. Does that mean I have a chance to beat this ticket? Should I keep fighting it? Im not sure if I would win since Im fighting it by mail and not in person.

No, this means you can pay $90 instead of $115.
If all you're doing to fight it is to write letters, etc. then sure, why not fight it?

What, exactly, were you charged with?

I was hoping to get the exaction charge...only because "no standing" would not (in and of itself) apply. It's the bus stop that makes things sticky...

Bus stops are "no standing", (4-08(c)(3)) BUT, the caveat is that it becomes a "no stopping" if there's a bus coming/leaving. So, OP, where was the bus (and how do you intend on proving it?)

As far as the settlement offer goes, I ought to post the link to the other guy who got the double parking citation - same deal here. Anyone have the link? It fell off the 'new posts' page.
