NYC - Legal elements for parking ticket

What is the name of your state? NY

Hi,

I recently received a parking ticket for a sidewalk violation in L.I.C. (Queens), NY.
I was told by the officer that it was only a warning and not to worry about it.
I checked online just in case a week later and found that my ticket was indeed in the system.

I know there is no way I can dispute that "it was just a warning", but can I dispute the ticket because my vehicle's VIN is not displayed on the ticket? (The ticket does include however my plate number and make/model)

I understand I can dispute "defective" tickets which are missing a required element under the law, but I have no idea where I can find a listing of those required elements.

Any advice regarding a similar case or a link to a listing of required parking ticket elements would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Sure, you can dispute it. A missing VIN does not a defective ticket make.

I have an idea. Search the old posts and see what you come up with.

Laws get revised or changed, while checking old posts is what almost everyone does before posting, stuff gets revised or their problem might not fit exactly as others. Some people DO actually come here for advice not to hear from Triumph the insult dog.

Since this same exact question gets asked at least once a month, if not more often, unless the "parking ticket" law changed yesterday, searching is still a better idea than coming here and asking the same question for the 50th time.

Trueborn12 will search the old posts to protect the innocent from "Triumph, the insult dog".
