Question

Old ticket

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Oklahoma

Back in March of 2001, I was given a $103 ticket for throwing my lit cigarette out of the window. I paid the ticket, as I always do... and moved on.

The problem is this. On our Oklahoma website, where you can look at the status of these types of things, it is still showing PENDING. I know I paid this ticket, but it was over 7 years ago, and I have moved 5 times since then. So of course my receipt is GONE.

The other night on the news, they announce that the OCPD would be reopening these and issuing warrants for unpaid tickets....

I have had a few tickets in the last few years and paid every one of them on time.

Can this old ticket come back to haunt me???? What do I do since I don't have my receipt of payment anymore?? I always pay my tickets, and have never had any legal issues at all. But I am terrified that they will come banging on my door one day.

What did they say when you called the contact number to ask about this?
