I want to point out that I am in the military.

Recently I was in Athens, GA and I received a ticket for an Open Container while I was drinking on the street. Now I was only outside having a cigarette and didn't stray far from the doorway to the bar, where I saw other people smoking and they had drinks in their hands. I got pulled over to a cop and he issued me an open container ticket. It's only a 60 dollar fine which isn't a big deal but do I need to worry about this going on my record? The lady that I talked to said that it would only be on their records, but since I have a secret clearance about to get a top secret do I need to worry about the ticket showing up anytime in my near future? Should I fight the ticket or should I just pay the fine? I'm not from GA, and have never had to worry about open containers where I'm from. Any and all advice would be appreciated.
