Overdue Maryland Parking Fines

What is the name of your state? Maryland

Hello All - I have received a letter from a collection agency stating that I owe $1600 in over due parking fines. I do not have the means to pay these fines. I have moved out of state and then back in again. I have new tags and registration. So I have different tags then the ones that i received he ticket on, so I am not too worried about having my car booted or towed. How can I get these tickets resolved without paying $1600. Can anyone help me???

Um, it's kinda late to try getting out of paying. You are going to pay it. All of it.

If you're lucky, perhaps they would consider setting up a payment plan for you.

Don't be so quick to dismiss the new vehicle being booted and towed. The new vehicle is registered to the same owner. It can happen.

All you can really do is write/call and ask to negotiate a lower payment. The collection agency may be willing to take less than $1600 if you agree to pay the lesser amount in full.

BWAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!! Oh, sorry, that was just too funny and naive.

My state has actually been *adding back* older records, and we currently go to 2004. Other states may never have deleted old recors, and it's a simple matter to link you up with your former plate and then boot your new car.

In the age of computers, there's not much that gets by.
