Parking against traffic

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NM

I received the following ticket justly so if you would rather not give advice to someone who admits guilt then please do not continue reading and I'm sorry I wasted your time

Well, I am fairly sure that I have no leg to stand on but I also figured that getting advice couldn't hurt.

I came back from school today with a ticket for parking against traffic. I was parked against traffic and pretty much the only things I can think of to get out of the ticket are that I can't read the model of the car that was written (it's just a scribble) and
that the ordinance # and "appear on (or prior)" date are also nearly impossible to read. (though I was able to figure them both out after a while )

Really my only actual question is if these three points being illegible is enough to even mention in court or if ill just be laughed at

Thanks for any help you can offer!

None of those points are a valid means to get the ticket dismissed.

Since you can't get more fines for trying to fight the cite, as long as you're not missing classes/work to do so, go ahead and try to explain things and perhaps you might see some sort of leniency or something; don't count on anything happening in your favor, but like I said, your punishment won't get worse for trying.

Thanks so much for the quick reply.

To be honest If i could just pay a fine I'd be pleased as punch as I have to miss classes to go to court. But the only thing marked on the ticket is the "appear in court" box, so I have to go and I figured while I was there I might as well be missing class for a reason.

Thanks again!

It may be you are misreading/misunderstanding the citation. Have you called the court/jurisdiction to make sure you can't prepay in lieu of appearance?

I assume that I am reading the citation wrong (like i said, ignorant) but I cant even find a phone number on this thing! (I'll look up the number as soon as I get a chance [working/going to school full time allots me very little time :P) But here is what I see and maybe someone can tell me if I am just being... let's just say "not so smart"

There is a red box near the bottom of the ticket with "penalty assessment", "Traffic Arraignment", "court appearance", and "warning notice"; all with boxes next to them. The officer marked only "court appearance" with the time that I need to go to municipal court. I assumed that whatever I would have to pay would be under the "penalty assessment" line, but the boxes where you put the amount owed is empty.

I was a little peeved not knowing what I might owe, but I also assumed that they just didn't fill this part out and that I had to go to court for them to decide how much I owe.

I know answering basic questions about a parking ticket layout isn't that much fun but I really do appreciate the help!
