Parking in fire zone ticket missing information

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TEXAS (Odessa)

Myself & about 8 other parents having Thanksgiving lunch with their kids all got ticket for parking in front of the school in the school circle. I guess it is technically a fire zone but all parents have been doing it for years. The school cop was a real jerk about it to everyone. The ticket is $125, I would not mind paying if he was not such a poot. I usually walk to the school since it is around the corner, but had to run errands after. My question is, he did not fill out all the info on the ticket. No date, time or location. All it has is make, year (which is wrong also), lic # & parked in fire zone with his signature. Since it is not filled out correctly could it be dismissed, I have never had a prkng ticket so am not sure what I need to do! THANKS IN ADVANCE!

    Yep.
Remember that excuse when your children use it later..."everybody does it!"
Maybe he was concerned that your autos were blocking a fire lane.

    No
Pay it and be glad somebody is looking out for the safety of these youngsters.

I totally agree that you should not have been blocking the fire lane. Even if "everyone does it". However, that does not relieve the officer from providing the information required on the ticket. If there is no date, time or location on the ticket, then you have a good chance of having it dismissed.

Thank you for your advice! I would not have knowingly parked in a fire zone. We have checked with the city and it is actually a unloading zone that they are now deciding to enforce, with no clear fire zone markings. I will pay that ticket if I need to. The school policeman was just a little to eager. I will also probably not have to pay since the citation was not properly filled out!! Thanks again!
