parking on private property

What is the name of your state? New Jersey. I recently received a ticket for not parking between designated lines. I parked my motorcylce near the back door of my office. My boss called the property management comapny and was told our office is on private property and that I shouldn't have recieved this ticket. Is this accurate? The incident took place in Voorhees, Camden County, NJ
