| Is there a SOL for what? for initiating charges- yes for waiting for you to pay a fine placed by a court once you are found guilty either by admission or default- no |

| You shouldn't have to appear in court, just call the court and ask how much the fine is, they'll probably let you mail it in. If you want to contest it, you will probably have to appear. I live in PA, a couple of years ago an old guy was stopped around here for a tail light out. Seems as if he had a warrant for a ticket from the seventies, he was arrested and had to pay it to get out of jail! There is a statute of limitations for them to file charges, but once they are filed then there is a hearing and a sentence, then they have forever to collect! |
