Parking Ticket on Borrowed Car

What is the name of your state? California

My foreign friend came here to visit me and borrowed my car to San Francisco a couple of days ago. After my friend left US back home, I noticed a parking ticket in San Francisco on my desk. What am I supposed to do with this parking ticket not caused by me? I photocopied my friend's international driver's license when I lended my car. Is it useful? Thanks for advice!

The ticket is your responsibility. Pay it. You can then go after your "foreign friend" for compensation...

Yep, the ticket belongs to the owner of the vehicle. It was a risk you took when you allowed somone to drive your vehicle regardless of their "country of origin".

Someone who gets a ticket with your car, doesn't tell you about it, and leaves it behind for you to deal with is NOT your friend.

Question

Thanks all but no one answered the question?

Can I fight this parking ticket not caused by me? What is my chance?

Why would you even bother? It would probably cost you more in time and trouble than just paying it. Besides, what's your defense? That it wasn't you who parked there? Others have already told you, it's your car, it's your ticket. You voluntarily gave the car to your friend to drive, he didn't steal it.

Just pay the ticket.

Its not even about the time or the cost. The registered owner of the vehicle is responsible for the parking ticket - period.
