| Parking Ticket - Database not updated

In September I received a ticket for expired tags on my car registered in Tennessee from the Fairfax county police in Virginia (I am in the military). I had forgotten since I had not been driving the car and did not receive the notice in the mail. Anyhow, I mailed in the correct forms and on Oct. 6 I received the renewed registration and sticker. I immediately put the sticker on my car and parked it back on the street by my house. The next morning (Oct 7) I received a ticket for expired tags.
The officer saw that my sticker was valid and that I have military stickers on my car. However, she still ran my plates and because Tennessee had not updated their database, she gave me a ticket.
My registration says that it is valid as of Oct 4. Do I have to contest this in court? |
