Parking Ticket with Dealer/Temp Plates

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York

I live in Brooklyn and recently bought a car from Michigan. I received a $45 ticket for parking during street sweeping, however, the vin number is missing and the dealer plate was still on the car. Should I pay this?

A week later, I was shocked when I received a ticket at a meter (which still had eleven minutes left) where I neglected to see a sign "No Parking between 4pm-7pm. It was 4:02.
This time the vin number was on the ticket, but I had a temporary license taped up in the window. Should I pay this? Is there any way to fight this?

I should also note that although I live in Brooklyn, my plate, registration and drivers license are all in Georgia.

Thanks!

You are required to pay the tickets. It would be unlawful to not pay them.

The dealer will receive a bill in the mail for the ticket - and they can trace the plate back to you. That's the first ticket.

The 2nd ticket, with the VIN, identifies the vehicle as your's correct? The temp tag isn't registered to the dealer, correct?

The dealer can sue you for their money back. The NY court system can deal with you for the 2nd.
