Parking ticket with inaccurate PINWhat is the name of your state? California. I got a parking ticket on my new car which has no plates. Metermaid entered my vehicle PIN, but he miss one letter. Any repercussions if I don't pay it? |

| Do you really wanna take the risk? It would really suck if next year your registration was denied and your license suspended, right? |

| That's VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). And it's your gamble ... those nasty penalties and civil collections can add $250 - $500 to the original fine. If it were me, I'd go for the short money (the parking ticket). But then, I don't like gambling all that much. - Carl

| It might not matter if the "VIN" is incorrect on the ticket. Each number or letter stands for something. The digit that is incorrect might have nothing to do with them identifying the car. Then you would have racked up much higher fines for nothing! Here is a link that describes a VIN. http://www.autoinsurancetips.com/decoding-your-vin |
