Parking ticket not in dof online system

Brooklyn NY

Hello,

I received a parking ticket a few months ago. Ever since about a week after I received it, I had been looking for it on the dof nycserv site as I wanted to try to dispute it using an online hearing. The thing is that the ticket is still not showing up in the system and there is nothing outstanding on my plate number either. I also have not received any follow-up notices in the mail.

Since the ticket isn't in the system, it won't allow me to submit a dispute online. And I'm hesitating sending in the actual ticket in case they actually did "forget" about this.

Anyone have any idea what the deal with this is?

I would hate to have it show up in the system say in a year from now, with accumulated late fees etc... or even worse, have my car towed.

Any advice?

Thanks!
Hanna

You might not have heard, but for the last, oh, 50 years or so, there has been this amazing technology which actually lets you duplicate things on paper, thus giving you the option of retaining the original. Why not give that a shot and head over to 210 Joralemon with the copy and see what the issue is?

I would say that if it's been months without you hearing anything then there is a good chance the violation never got submitted. Who wrote this, police or traffic agent? Was it a computer printed or hand written ticket?

How much you wanna bet its due to a typo in the plate number? Some Innocent Joe is probably fighting the PVB right now about how he never even drove in Brooklyn, much less got a parking ticket there

Could be, but the DoF online system lets you also search by NoV number in addition to searching by plate. If the OP tries to find the ticket by NoV number (ticket number) and it doesn't show up then it's just not in the system.
