Parking ticket occluded sign and wrong date

I got a parking ticket "No standing Bus Stop" at NYC. It is allowed to park in most of the block but I did not see the sign that marks the end of the permitted area since it was occluded by a branch of a tree. Only after receiving the ticket I found the sign but unfortunately I did not have a camera with me to prove it was occluded. Since I don't live near NYC I won't go back to check if the branch is still there.

My questions is:
The ticket has the wrong date (one day earlier). What is more likely to work: To plea not guilty based on the date since I have no proof for the sign was occluded or should I ignore the wrong date not to present too many excuses?
