parking ticket in a parking lot

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ

I parked my car in a manually operated paid parking lot in Jersey City.Basically you hand over the keys to the operator and they park it for you.

Today I received an official legal notice from the court for non-payment of
Violation "Improper parking on a sidewalk".Funny part is there was no ticket when I drove out of the parking lot unless it was destroyed before I collected my car.

I'm sure the parking lot operator is not going to own up.
and the court will not accept any argument without proof.
How do I deal with this issue.

Please help

I would take this to court. They have no proof that you parked it there, and I would tell the Judge this story that you have explained. Did you receive a stub for the person parking your vehicle when they take your keys? I personally would not hand over my keys to someone without some kind of receipt that they have my vehicle. Any video surveillance in the parking lot? Check with security or the business. Good Luck.

Not that any of this is even close to accurate. The RO is responsible for parking tickets that the vehicle receives. Legally, the RO would be required to pay and then he could seek reimbursement (civilly) from the parking lot operator.

(There was one thread recently where the OP was able to get around this by dragging in the person who parked the car illegally, but that is an anomaly and won't happen in this case)
