parking ticket in Toronto for NY licence plate

On a rented car with NY state license plates, I got a parking ticket in Toronto [I couldnt move it as I got locket out of the car] . But I lost the slip that the guy left it on the car's windshield.

Do I need to worry about that. ?

Again,
it is a rented car with NY state license plate and the parking ticket is of Toronto's.

Thanks
AP

Yep, you sure do. In your rental agreement you signed, you allowed the rental agency to charge your credit card for any fines or fees that occurred during your rental period and the rental company will have the legal obligation to pay as the registered owner of the vehicle. Cities and towns love finding out unpaid parking tickets were given to rental cars, they know they will get paid.
