Parking ticket with wrong offense code

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Michigan

I received a parking ticket while at college a few weeks ago. I was not illegally parked and I believe that the officer wrongly ticketed me. I was inbetween the proper yellow lines but the person behind me was parking on the corner where it was painted as a no parking spot. Both of us were ticketed. Now here's were it gets interesting... I immediately called the number on the ticket and told them that I wanted to contest the ticket. They told me to come in to fill out some paperwork and that I would have my day in court. Well the paperwork was the civil infraction ticket. So I decide to look up the codes listed on the ticket and I find that the officer wrote me up for a violation of a rezoning ordinance!?! The second part of the code number identified it as a violation by not turning off the motor, engaging the parking brake, or placing the car in park while leaving it unattended. Additionally, the officer wrote on the ticket that I was "parked in roadway" when I was actually in a parking lot. Finally, the officer wrote the wrong date on the bottom where he signs but has the correct date of violation.

My questions are:

1) Should I just dispute that I was correctly parked and not bring up the offense code stuff?

2) Should I start right off with the incorrect offense code stuff?

3) Should I just pay the dang thing and chalk it up as a bad experience?

4) Should I do something else?

Obviously, I would not like to do no. 3 as I do not think I should just pay for something when I was not doing anything wrong. But, hey, this is the freeadvice area right???

Thanks in advance for all responses!

This is a question of money. What is the fine going to cost you? Is it worth fighting?

Personally, I would pay the thing and never think on it again....
