What is the name of your state? California, San Francisco :)

Situation:

1. I have a car with parking tickets. Some are in the process of being contested. One has been waived. It is taking SF about 3-4 months to process the contesting of a ticket.

2. This car has vainity plates.

3. I am late registering this car (it was due 9/12/05)

4. I am going to be transfering ownership to my brother ('selling' the car)

5. I want to transfer the plates to my new-to-me car

Questions:

1. Can I register it without paying the parking tickets?

2. Will selling it make the parking tickets 'evaporate'?

3. When should I transfer the license plates?

4. Will the parking tickets follow the license plates?

Thank you thank you!! ;)

1. Yes.

2. Hahahaha

3. July 17, 2010.

4. No. Parking tickets follow the registered owner at the time the tickets were written. There is no magic, or deception in your case, that will make the tickets go away.
