Maybe I'll do that. How do I bring up a ticket she issued to me without it seeming accusatory/confrontational? I feel like just by approaching her she'll assume I've got a beef (I'm guessing these people get hassled all the time).

I mean, really...you don't seem to be getting it.
Well then, let me describe what my understanding of the situation and you can tell me where I've gone wrong.

1) I was issued a ticket saying I was in a residential parking zone when I was not.
2) As there is no time and date stamped video of this location (that I know of), even if I were to have witnesses (which I don't), this is merely a civilian's word against the parking cop's.
3) In cases of a civilian's word against an officer's, the officer will always win.
4) I'm screwed.

Does that about sum it up? I mean, short of the video, I don't see how I can produce any hard evidence that I was legally parked. Can you come up with another way?

I'm getting worked up here, so I apologize if my tone is a little snippy.

To put it simply - you're screwed.

How would I find an un-biased witness? Nobody's going to remember where a specific car that was previously unknown to them (I assume anyone who knows me will be considered biased) was parked two weeks ago at a specific time of day. And even if I were to find such a person, it's still just someone's word against the parking cop's, no?

All right, there it is. I'll just stew about it for a little bit longer then move on. I don't suppose you see any hope in complaining about this judge, do you?

By that, I mean not to try and get out of the ticket, that's apparently a lost cause. But was there any true misconduct on his part in his "I don't know, you figure it out" answer to my question?

The judge is not required to assist you in obtaining evidence. His answer, while a bit terse, was absolutely correct.

The location is just a block? How does that describe the location especially since there are different restrictions on the same block? I think that's pretty bogus and the ticket should be considered insufficient on its face.

The judge doesn't see it your way.

Proof

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I was reading this thread and thought that if the parking person continues to issue these bogus tickets, that catching the act on tape would be a good way of proving that something funny is going on. My guess is that it wouldn't get you off the hook but it probably would give someone else the proof to do so.

I also found this online which is somewhat related, interesting, although not all too helpful.
