I got a ticket for a failing to yield to the traffic meter on the freeway. I fought it in court and won and my money was later returned to me. About a year later, I was looking into auto insurance and the quotes seemed a little high. I found out that I have a point on my record for that moving violation! How is it that I fought the ticket and won but still got a point on my record?

It could be that the insurance companies ran the information and got a result that included the citation prior to the court result.

Go to the DMV and obtain a printout of your driving record and see what that record contains.
