Received ticket, my car was 50 miles away, never been there

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California
I received a parking ticket from city of Los Angeles. On the date that the ticket says, I was at home asleep. I've never been anywhere near the address that it says. I live alone, no one else had my car. It was physically impossible for my car to have been there. The license plate on the notice is mine and the make is correct, but the color says RD. My car is blue. How could they have gotten my license plate number? I haven't had a parking ticket in over 25 yrs. My car was not there. How is this possible? Thanks for your help. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Cool

Didja call the number on the ticket and talk to somebody? Dunno how you're going to prove you were home asleep, though. I'll bet they've heard that one before (I know I have).

But I will call them today. yes i can't prove i was at home but the whole point is it's not an excuse, I seriously have never been there. Somebody fraudulently used my license plate number or something, it's just weird. It's not like i forgot where I was lol My car is blue and the notice says its RD. Something fishy goin on around here.....

Send a message via AIM to CdwJava Send a message via Yahoo to CdwJava
Or, the officer that wrote the ticket put the wrong plate down.

Thumbs up

Hey thanks for your help. I called them and they said to mail my registration with a copy of the ticket and they would look into it. I did that and got a letter a week later that says disregard the ticket. No further action necessary. Thanks.
