Registration & Insurance Expired

I live in NY and due to being in financial trouble, let my insurance laps, it's been almost a year. I also just realized my registration lapsed back in October. I did not receive anything in the mail notifying me because I had moved. What do I do now? Will I be able to get insurance and registration? Do I need a lawyer? Please help... I don't know what to do and am afraid of being pulled over and arrested since I'm sure my license is probably suspended. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!
