rental vehicle parking violation

What is the name of your state? New York

when a renter of a vehicle receives a parking violation in New York State,who
is responsible for payment. The renter or the rental company? Is this written anywhere in the law?

**A: the vehicle renter of course. There is a clause in the rental agreement contract.

If it's Avis, they pay the ticket then charge your credit card the cost of the ticket plus a $100 handling fee. My son in law just found out the hard way.

Yea when you sign the papers to rent the car it says it in the contract that you are responsible for all tickets and fines that you or the car recieve while it is in your possesion.

The person who rented you the car should have mentioned that to you before you signed.
