Requested Supporting Deposition

What is the name of your state? NY

Well, about 2 weeks ago, I got a ticket for having no front license plate on my car. I had it on my dashboard, so I sent the ticket it, and pleaded not guilty, requesting a supporting depositoin.

Questions:
-The ticket I was given was like a printed reciept style. So I filled out the stuff and sent the whole ticket in the mail. Is that bad? Should I have only sent the part that had my plea on it? Because I don't remember my exact court date.

-Also, I still haven't recieved my supporting deposition yet, it's been almost a week. My court day is the Monday coming up (I THINK at 5pm). Isn't there something like if you don't get your deposition before the court date, the case is dropped? Anyone have info regarding this? I'd really like to get the deposition soon if I'm going to have to go to court.

You don't get them for non-moving violations. Not to mention that if your plate was in the window, you're guilty (plate is too high off the ground if its on the dash).

But feel free to tell the court that you didn't receive the discovery at your hearing and they'll most likely adjourn it for you.

But how do I find out my court time? I am pretty sure I know what court it is, but not 100%. Is it best to just call the court as ask when my court date is?

I would strongly suggest you do that. If it passes and you don't show, one guess what happens

Call the court clerk.

Write it down.

Tape it to the fridge.

Don't put it in with that mess of papers you keep on your kitchen table.
