suspended license for having tinted windows

What is the name of your state?california, in 2000 I received a citation for having tinted windows. My license has been suspended every since. for not paying the ticket. I no longer have the car, and need to start driving again. I tried contacting the collection agency, but they showed no record for my license number. The DMV states I must show a letter that the citation has been paid. I didnt request a hearing from the DMV within the 10 day period. Is there anything I can do to get my license reinstated, until I can afford to pay the citation? My job has relocated, and I need transportation to my new work site.

A: No, unless Carl the Cop says I am wrong again. You need to pay the ticket.

The DMV is the all-seeing, all-knowing guru in this matter. if they say you need to take care of it first, then you need to take care of it.

You can ASK about a restricted license, but chances are they will repeat the same thing they have told you already.
