"Temporary Construction" sign missing + no construction = 65$ ticket

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY

Hi everyone,
I parked last night at Lexington avenue. Parking was authorized but I received a ticket anyway!!!!
The reason? "Temporary construction regulation"

OK...but the problem is that there was no sign and....no construction AT ALL!!!!! so, how can I guess that they will work on that street maybe in 3 years??!!

How can I beat this ticket?
I already took pictures and I have a witness

The fact there there was no construction going on is not relevant. Forget about that angle.

In NYC, only one sign needs to be posted on the block, no matter how long the block is. Are you sure there was NO sign anywhere?
