ticket in no parking zone

What is the name of your state? NY

I received a ticket in a no parking zone. While parked I saw a police office start to give other illigally parked cars tickets so I went to my car. I was already in my car and while my friend was gettiing my car the office told my friend to tell me not to leave. The office came to give me a parking ticket (Parked in no parking zone) after I was already in my car.

Is this a valid ticket?

The ticket doesn't say how much it is and I can pleady guilty but request the ticket be thrown out (I doubt that ever happens) and they will let me know the out come. I plan on calling the town court where I got the ticket to find out what the fine is.

What justification would there be to throw out the ticket. You already were in violation. You cannot "undue" the crime.

From what I've been told by other people most cops let you go if you move the car before they start writing the ticket. I know once they start writing the ticket(not the case here) they have to finish it.

Apparently this wasn't one of "most cops". You were already guilty by parking there, if the cop wanted to let you go, that would be up to them. The fact is you still broke the law by parking there at all.

From what I have read on this forum, NY tends to be pretty strict about parking violations.
