What is the name of your state? NY

My car was towed, I knew that eventually it would be. I had outstanding parking tickets, I got them because I was late on getting my car inspected because I had to do some repairs to the car, but I was laid off at the time, hence, no money.

Now I am working but because of the fact that I was layed off and not working for 2 1/2 months, I'm still playing catch-up, I have not been able to pay the tickets.

When I've gone online, there is no option to get on a payment plan, you either pay them or you don't.

Conclusion, if I can't afford to pay the tickets in one lump, I certainly can't afford to pay the tickets PLUS the towing.

I called them and told them that I have no option than to let them keep the car and sell it.

They told me that once they auction the car that I have to go and pick up a document that states they destroyed my plates.

My question is, don't I continue getting charged for storage, will that be covered, will this go on my credit report? Do I have to continue having the car insured while it's in their possession?

Is the vehicle financed or is it fully paid for?
