Towed Away

I was parked in a metered parking spot after metered hours which allows me to park there. Above the metered hours sign there was a tow away zone time sign. I parked the car at 9:30pm which was legal and the tow away zone time started at 10pm. Before parking there I missed reading the tow away zone parking sign.

When I got out of the night club at about 1:30 am the car was towed. It cost $168 to get it out of impound and in addition I received a "no parking" ticket for $45. Reading the tow bill showed that the car was towed at 10:05 pm...basically after 5 minutes the tow away zone time began

is there anyway to contest this ticket? I have a friend that was with me that was handicaped and can provide me with a handicap placard can that help my defense in anyway.
