What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Alaska

At about 10:00 pm last night I parked my car on a public street across from my hotel. The parking spaces are clearly marked "2 Hour Parking 9:00 am - 6:00 pm". No other signs were present. This morning at 7:30 am I walked out and found that my car had been towed and that temporary signs had been put up that said "No Parking After 6:00 AM". As I was trying to sort everything out, a hotel employee approached me and informed me that the "No Parking After 6:00 AM" signs had not been put up when he started his overnight shift.

Apparently the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce is going to be using the street for some event this weekend.

It's going to cost $250 for me to get my rental car back and I feel like I'm being screwed. Do I have any recourse?
