I live in NYS. You can see on a previous post that due to a few days lapse in auto insurance coverage, as a penalty will be turning in my plates for x days (which is now no problem since I have a place to leave the car).

My question is: although there is a specific DMV location (in my county) specified on the suspension order, can I turn them in to ANY DMV in NYS? The one preferred is in a different county. I will call to ask tomorrow but figured I'd check in before then. Thanks in advance.

That's hardly a legal question. You will find out soon enough when you try a different DMV.
