Two Tickets issued for the same violation within a span of 24 hours

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY

Hi All,

I was issued two tickets for the violation "Inspection sticker Mutilated" with in a span of 24 hours. I have no idea of sencond ticket as i didnot find on my car. I appeared for hearing and informed judge that inspection sticker is valid upto Dec 2008. He just asked me to show the proof that the inspection sticker is not mutilated. I showed him the photograph he said that the photograph is not clear and closed the case by charging me $65.

I paid the amount and did inspection of my car.

Now i came to know that i was issued another ticket on the same vioaltion.
Ist ticket issued on Aug 11, 2008 1:20 p.m.
2nd ticket issued on Aug 12, 2008 8.30 a.m. ( i am not aware of this when i appeared in the court on Aug 15, 2008).

If i go to the court is there any chance that they void my second ticket?

Seniors please advice.

Thank you.

"Any" chance? Sure. .001% is still technically "any chance".

You may be able to argue against any late fees that were imposed due to it not being on your car (and even that is an iffy argument), but that's about it. See if they'll offer a "settlement".
