What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
NY 21 uninspected vehicle tkt for $100. Is the fine eliminated or reduced for getting the inspection within the 10 day response time?

While there is no requirement that their be a dismissal or reduction, many people do indeed find that going into court with proof that they are now in compliance will yield them some sort of leniency.

It's not a correctable offense. Your vehicle was uninspected when you got the ticket - period.

As just mentioned, if you do get it inspected shortly after the ticket is issued you may get a break with the fine, or more.

Except if this is NYC. Then it counts for nothing.

what a waste of time & expense ... I wonder who got the kickback for this law.

I'll bet there is a lot of people who live in NY who register their vehicles out of state...
