I work for a Library in Illinois. My vehicle was cited by the municipality in the library parking lot for not displaying a state vehicle sticker for the current year. I had the sticker, but did not affix it to the licence plate. I was 2 weeks late. My question is does a municipality have the authority to enforce unposted Iillinois state vehicle registration statues in a library parking lot. The library is a separate taxing entity separate from, and not part of, the city proper. Is it worth it to contest this?
