Question

Where do you go?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California. My husband was picking up wood on the side of highway a couple weeks ago, he was in his truck, it has expired plates as of February, anyways they didn't give a ticket for anything except, unsafe parking on the freeway. But they impounded the truck, now we are wondering where do we go to get a release the vehicle from the tow yard? The CHP or police dept.? Do they have a hold on it if it was towed by them? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

He will have to go to the agency that impounded it in order to obtain a release. However! He may not GET a release unless all the fees have been paid up and a valid registration (or temporary registration) is issued for the vehicle.
