Window Tint Violoation in Texas

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

Yesterday I was pulled over by a state trooper who told me that my window tint was in violation. He asked me if I had everbeen stopped for it and I told him that I had been pulled over and it was tested to be in compliance about four months ago. The officer that pulled me over yesterday said that the back windows couldn't be any darker than the front windows no matter how dark the front windows are. I looked up window tinting standards on the dps website and they say that the front windows require a 25% or more and that

"Side Windows to The Rear of The Driver (Revised September 1, 2009)
These windows are completely exempted from regulation under the Texas Transportation Code. Reference Legislation: Senate Bill 589 "

What are my chances of actually recieving a ticket for my window tint? The officer sounded like he was just full of %$#@ but if he was then why would he issue a written warning?

Wth you getting pulled over twice (in the span of 4 months) for the same alleged violation might suggest that your chances of getting cited for it are pretty high. That should be obvious.

Whether he's full of symbols or not, is not the issue, the issue is that he can issue the citation and you'd have to run around to get it dismissed. If its worth the hassle, then keep it and take your chance.
