I got a ticket in San Francisco, CA.

However, they got the license plate wrong on the ticket (put in a "T" instead of an "I". Everything else is right.

Should I even worry about the ticket?
Will they be able to track me if I don't pay?
Should I be able to contest and win?

Thank you a bunch.

Many Parking Enforcement Agencies include the VIN (vehicle Identification number) on their ticket. They could track your vehicle that way if you fail to pay it. Some departments also take pictures of the vehs they write tickets to, if they find an error they can go back and change the ticket by submitting a proof of correction.

Your best bet is to pay the ticket if you were indeed parked illegally. If it you feel it was written in error you should appeal the ticket.
