Legal to modify other companies electronice device and sell as something else

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois

Hey guys I have a weird questions, is it legal to take another companies say a bluetooth headset, do some internal mods to it and sell it as something totally different then a hands free headset?

Would there be any legal issues there? I mean bluetooth headsets are very common device 100's of different companies make them, I would be modifying it internally and using it as something totally different then a hands free phone headset, their logo/brand name would be removed of course.

Since the headset is a radio transmitter, I suspect you need to be licensed by the FCC to make any modifications.
The Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution prohibits the government from making you answer any questions that may incriminate you.

    Go watch this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wXkI4t7nuc

Refusing to answer questions is NOT obstruction. Lying to the police is obstruction. If you say "I don't know" when you really do, that's obstruction. I suggest using the phrase "I'm sorry, but I don't believe it is in my best interest to answer your questions".
