Panerai Takes Naples Watch To Court
Justia Federal District Court Filings and Dockets

I made some info search and found that Panerai has patented the design for its watch movement. As far as I know, the design patents can only last for 25 years... Of cos, replica watches (contain Panerai logo) are illegal since they use panerai brand without permission.. (Trademark Infringement)..

I need to know if watches which are similar or same as Panerai watches but without any panerai brands on it is legal by law. (validity of patent rights) I am selling them in my hometown and cannot afford to be on the wrong side of the law. Thanks for the advice.

Regards,
Reed

I am not sure why you would be concerned, unless you are selling watches into the U.S.

In any event, there isn't any way to determine what, if any, exposure you or your customers might have without a full review of the relevant patents and the relevant products. If you are concerned, contact a local patent attorney who can review all of the relevant facts of your situation and advise you accordingly.
