What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

In Texas, the recommended form for an affidavit of heirship has a question about debts as follows:

12. Decedent left no debts that are unpaid, except: __________ (insert list of debts, or state "none").
The decedent did owe a mortgage on a home, which the parents(only living heirs) have been paying. Does this mortgage need to be listed as a debt? The 2 people filling out affidavits are outside uninterested parties and have no knowledge about the mortgage, do they have to sign an affidavit concerning debts they have no knowledge about? Can this question be omitted?
