CaliforniaI can not pay my deceased mothers taxes. I sold her home to pay 2000 to03. 2004 is due and I have no money to pay

You are not personally responsible. Debts of the deceased are the responsibility of the estate. File the return and include a copy of the death certificate. Since you sold the house I assume that you are the executor and have completed probate. Include your appointment from the court along with a notarized statement that there are no assets in the estate.
